Courses and Certificates
The cornerstone of our Professional Development offerings is our certificate program. We grouped a variety of our course offerings into certificate programs that allow you to develop in-depth knowledge and expertise in a specific area.These certificates are divided into two programs: "Developing High Performance Through Leadership" and "Developing High Performance Through Personal Skill Mastery." Each series emphasizes a different area of proficiency.
To register for a certificate and track your progression through the program, staff must register for a curricula on the ULearn system. If you have any questions regarding certificates, please send an email to training@american.edu. You will receive your certificate upon successful completion of all required courses.

Brown Bag Lunch & Learn Program
We offer a series of lunch time sessions (noon - 2 p.m.) three times each semester on a variety of topics related to time challenges and the desire to improve the work environment and individual team performance. Topic may include "Social Media", "Dealing with Difficult People", and "Email Organization". Look for announcements in Today at AU.

Faculty who are interested in registering for a professional development training offered by Human Resources can send their name, AU ID, and session title to training@american.edu. Confirmation of registration will be sent to your AU e-mail address. If you wish to cancel, send an e-mail to training@american.edu.
