Singerman

Professor Diane Singerman's research interests include Egyptian politics, and gender and politics in the Middle East.

Diane Singerman awarded Ford Foundation Grant for Work in Cairo

The Ford Foundation awarded Diane Singerman a quarter-million dollar grant to encourage participatory urban development, strengthen local governance, and revitalize urban communities in the Greater Cairo area.  Dr. Singerman will use her award to explore alternative urban planning practices that redirect government budgets, public services, as well as problems of Cairo’s underserved urban poor and lower middle class.

New SPA Graduate Course

SPA’s Political Communication masters program, which has doubled in size over the past year will jointly offer a course in the spring on the U.S. presidential primaries and caucuses. The course will include a visit to New Hampshire to observe the New Hampshire primary on January 10th. The Spring 2012 course "Communicating the 2012 Presidential Election" is GOVT 596.003 or COMM 535.003

Political Theory Institute Awarded Major Grant

The newly founded Political Theory Institute (PTI) which seeks to foster awareness of important enduring political and philosophical issues through dialogue and discussion was awarded a multi-year grant by the Thomas W. Smith Foundation.  This award will sponsor a postdoctoral fellow and the Janus Forum debates. Learn More
