Jean Accius

Adjunct Professorial Lecturer
Department of Public Administration and Policy

  • Jean Accius serves as a Project Officer within the Disabled and Elderly Health Programs Group at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. In that role, he implements and directs national demonstration and grant programs design to support and improve the structure and delivery of long-term care services and supports within States. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Accius served as a Senior Policy Research Analyst with the AARP Public Policy Institute. He is an expert in aging and long-term care, with special expertise in retirement security and economic issues in aging. His background includes translating research into policy and practice. Dr. Accius sits on the Advisory and Editorial Boards for the American Society on Aging’s New Ventures in Leadership Program and the Network for Multicultural Aging (NOMA). He holds a master's degree in aging studies from the Claude Pepper Institute at Florida State University, and a Ph.D., in Public Administration from American University.
