Check out the Grad Info Center! You'll find lots of useful information on scholarly initiatives, registration, grades, graduation, academic probation, and much more!

American University requires that all students have up-to-date in-session addresses. Not having current in-session address may prevent you from registering. To check, confirm and/or update your current in-session address on my.american.edu. Click on "Academics" and then on "Update my Address".

Have questions about the waitlist? The registrar's office website includes information about how this process works. You can view your status on the waitlist through my.american.edu.

If you are a Federal Investigator looking to conduct a background check, security clearance, or other interview regarding a current or former student you will need to contact our office at 202-885-1690 to schedule an in-person appointment. For the interview you must bring your credentials as well as a copy of the student's signed release. In the case of alumni, please note that depending on how long it has been since the student was last enrolled/completed his/her program we may or may not have information (beyond grade information) or personnel familiar with the individual student.

Alumni Audits: If you're seeking to pursue this alumni benefit, you'll need to complete and submit an alumni audit request. All requests are handled through the Alumni Office. Recent (and no-so-recent) Graduates looking to pursue courses through the alumni audit program can get additional information and the necessary forms here.
