Dr. Zakir Hafez is the winner of the 2011 University Faculty Award for Outstanding Teaching in an Adjunct Appointment. His course, International Law introduces main principles and institutions of international law such as sources and actors of international law, the relationship between international law and domestic law, law of treaties, sovereignty, state responsibility, and international dispute resolution. Additionally, the course introduces special areas of international law such as trade and investment, human rights, environment, use of force, international terrorism, war, and individual responsibly for war crimes. Dr. Hafez currently serves as an attorney at the World Bank.
