Teaching & Learning Resources

Teaching and Learning Resources provides faculty and students with high-quality training and consulting services. We offer various training workshops as well as pedagogical and professional development consultations for faculty.

Events

We also sponsor a variety of events throughout the year that enable faculty to share their experiences about teaching and learning. One of our main events is the Ann Ferren Conference. This free, one-day conference is open to all AU faculty and consists of workshops, demonstrations, presentations, and collegial discussions.

We additionally host two to three Noontime Conversations per semester focused on topics of special interest to faculty. Previous seminars have included how to engage students with diverse academic backgrounds and doing justice to ethics in the classroom. Faculty are encouraged to stop by our office with questions or for more information.

Green Teaching

As a professor, do you teach in an environmentally-friendly way? If you model this to your class or ask your students to reflect upon their own actions and choices, you may qualify to be a certified "Green Teacher" at AU! Check out the criteria or review the list of current Green Teachers on campus.
