Francine Blume
Director of Experiential Education
Career Center
-
Dr. Francine Blume works with Career Center advisors, faculty, and employers to promote academic internships of the highest quality for AU students. She is also actively engaged in developing and implementing instructional media and technologies, and with learning assessment of Career Center activities.
Her philosophy of experiential education is that students should be engaged with relevant and intellectually challenging assignments to compliment their internships. Reflection on the experience, whether through classes or virtually, are key.
Francine’s previous experience includes adjunct teaching in Justice and Peace Studies, educational program development and direction with nonprofits and educational organizations, curriculum development for a refugee resettlement project, and teaching English as a second language.
