Building Access

Housing & Dining Programs grants residence hall access to all on-campus residents. Please contact Housing & Dining Programs at 202-885-3370 or email idcards@american.edu if you experience access problems related to your residence hall.

All other building access requests must be sent to Public Safety at access@american.edu. Visit Public Safety’s Access Control site for further instructions.

EagleBucks and Meal Plans

EagleBucks and meal plans can only be accessed on your AU ID Card. All cardholders can immediately add EagleBucks to an ID card once you receive it.

Library Card and Print Funds

Your AU ID Card also functions as your library card and also stores student printing funds. Visit www.american.edu/library to learn more about library services.

Jacobs Fitness Center

All students, staff, and faculty must present a valid AU ID Card in order to use the facilities at Jacobs Fitness Center. Visit the Recreational Sports & Fitness site to learn more about registration, the fitness facilities and policies.
