Welcome Fall 2011 new students! We are excited that you are going to join us and look forward to making your transition to Kogod as smooth as possible. We have several programs and resources to assist with your transition. Find out all about them below.
New Student Orientation
We encourage all Kogod students to participate in AU's New Student Orientation coordinated by the New Student Programs office. During orientation, Kogod hosts sessions for new students, and their family members or guests. For more information about Orientation visit the new student programs website.

The myau.american.edu portal offers a checklist to help new students prepare for the academic year.
Peer Mentors
Each Kogod new student will be assigned a 1955 Club Peer Mentor to answer any questions they may have and help with the transition to college life. Peer Mentors also arrange gatherings during your first semester to help make students more comfortable in the Kogod community and make new friends.
Capital Connections
Join Kogod on a corporate site visit tour designed just for freshmen, where you'll get an inside look at some of DC's intriguing companies in industries ranging from sports, entertainment, non-profit, finance, marketing, restaurant management and beyond. Click here for more info and to register.
Academic Welcome
First-year undergraduate Kogod students are invited to the Academic Welcome. This program is the official welcome from faculty and staff to the Kogod academic community.
Kogod Kickoff
The Kogod Kickoff is a program for all first-year undergraduate Kogod students. First-year students will have the opportunity to meet his/her Peer Mentor as well as Kogod staff. Peer Mentors will lead a mini-case competition and team building activities.
Kogod Kickoff registration is now closed. However, if you have not registered for the event, you are still encouraged to attend.
