Management & Entrepreneurship Department

The Kogod School of Business Management Department provides instruction in the areas of management, entrepreneurship, strategy, organizational behavior, human resources, business and corporate ethics, and global business citizenship. Faculty members are well-known researchers and distinguished professionals.

Undergraduate Specializations

The Management Department offers two undergraduate specializations and a number of individual courses that are critical to your managerial success as you move through your careers irrespective of your area or type of organization.

Undergraduate Management Specialization
The Management Specialization provides professional skills for individuals to succeed as managers and leaders. Students will find these skills make them more successful in their careers, allowing them to take on increasing responsibilities, facilitating promotions, and achieving career enhancing transfers. Specifically, students will be able to take active and productive roles in leading and working in teams, understanding their organization's performance drivers, and managing human capital.

In addition, emphasis on practical skills such as negotiation, consulting/project management, and managing change/innovation or entrepreneurship helps students in careers in large, small, and changing businesses.

Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Specialization
The Entrepreneurship Specialization provides students with the mind-set, skills and tools for starting a business and/or being an entrepreneur in corporations, non-profit organizations or international organizations.  Entrepreneurship is a way of thinking and behaving that can enrich your life, enhance the organizations you are involved with, and create substantial, high-impact results.  Successful entrepreneurs that start their own new ventures or who start new ventures within corporate, consulting, nonprofit, government or social enterprises have developed many of the same attitudes, behaviors, knowledge and skills.

MBA Concentrations

The Management Department offers three MBA concentrations and a number of individual courses that are critical to your managerial success as you move through your careers irrespective of your area or type of organization.

This MBA concentration offers the opportunity to learn how to think and behave like an entrepreneur whether you are leading your own new venture or working in an organization.

Consulting MBA Concentration
The Consulting MBA concentration is composed of two tracks sharing the two core require courses.  Beyond the two courses fundamental to consulting success in organizations, students may elect the management consulting track described below or a track in business systems consulting.

Management Consulting MBA Concentration
The Management Consulting MBA concentration provide students with some of the fundamental training that is often offered in the first months while employed at a consulting company.  Students will learn the frameworks and techniques used by leading consulting firms, and have the opportunity to work with practicing consultants in the classroom.

Leadership and Strategic Human Capital Management MBA Concentration
