Interns

Josey Schwartz

Joseph "Josey" Schwartz

Josey works on the Office of Sustainability's green building and transportation projects, gathering data, providing administrative support, and representing the Office to the campus community. He is currently pursuing his MS in Sustainability Management in the Kogod School of Business, with his interests stemming from a desire to understand the human dimensions of sustainability.  Josey graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 2011 with an Interdisciplinary Studies degree in Social Sustainability.  Josey had the good fortune of growing up in northern Italy, is a strict-vegetarian, a fitness enthusiast, and enjoys philosophical literature (particularly existentialism).

Ada Thomas

Ada Thomas

Ada serves as the Office of Sustainability's Communications Intern, where she is merging some of her biggest passions - fine art, design and the environment - to help develop new graphic design standards for the office's outreach materials. Ada also does design work for AU's Facilities Management department, including the AU Arboretum and the Zero Waste Initiative. A rising junior at AU, Ada is pursuing her BA in Graphic Design. For the past two years she has designed promotional materials for Campus Beautification Day and Earth Week. Green Eagle Ecoreps


Green Eagles are student peer educators who work to implement sustainable practices on campus by conducting outreach to the university community in AU's residence halls and campus administrative and academic departments.
