AU Chorus Auditions

AU Workshop Auditions

Do you like jazz, funk, fusion, and rock? Audition to be a member of the AU Workshop. This group explores all kinds of music while working on arranging and improvisation. If you are interested in auditioning for the ensemble, contact Noah Getz at getz@american.edu. Auditions will be held by appointment. To audition, prepare a short piece and improvisation of your choosing.
 

Closed: Spring Dance Concert Auditions

Auditions for the spring dance concert, "Upside Down/Inside Out," will be held on Saturday, January 21, at 10:00 a.m. in the Katzen dance studio (room 152). Please arrive early to complete an audition form and warm up. Bring your spring 2012 schedule, ballet shoes, and jazz shoes and be prepared to perform in bare feet. Students must be registered for an AU dance technique course during spring semester to be cast. For more information, contact artistic director Melanie George at mgeorge@american.edu.
 

Closed: AU Jazz Orchestra & Big Band Auditions

Directed by Joshua Bayer, the jazz orchestra plays concerts and clinics at AU as well as off campus concerts and festivals. We are looking for saxes, bones, trumpets, and rhythm section players. Auditions are by appointment on January 17 and 18. Audition requirements: please prepare a tune or read a prepared part.
